This Souvenir Book of Benson, Vt., is published under the auspices of the "Willing Workers Society" of the Methodist Episcopal Church with the hope that this little book may revive pleasant memories of past days, give the desired information for the present and inspire greater hope for the future.
The pictures were secured through friends and a committee co-operating. The history in part was compiled from a volume of "The History of Rutland County, Vt." publisehed in 1882, and "The Gazetteer" and Business Directory of Rutland County, Vt., 1881-1882. For much of the more recent history of the town the author is indebted to Mr. Le Vere C. Fay, a former resident of Benson.
