The Town of Benson Wastewater Treatment Facility and collection system was conceived in the early 1970's with construction completion in 1973. The facility consists of a two cell aerated lagoon system with chlorination disinfection and dechlorination prior to discharge of its effluent to a tributary of the Hubbardton River
